Who Summoned It — is a point-and-click detective game about investigating a catastrophe in the kingdom of Knotgud, where a summoned monster roams the land and the inhabitants hide too many strange details. The player follows Ricky Rocktoe, the local "master of truth," as he tries to discover who exactly caused this nightmare. The key twist is that the second protagonist is a living Scroll of Truth — a magical scroll capable of recording only the truth.
The investigation is based on a comparison of phrases and evidence
During interrogations, you have to listen carefully to residents, compare testimonies, and look for contradictions in their stories. New clues gradually reveal additional topics for conversation and allow you to delve deeper into others' motives. Some puzzles are designed as fill-in-the-blanks tasks: you need to correctly piece together the events and wording to reconstruct the events without errors.
The game's world is entirely hand-drawn and filled with strange magical instruments. You can peer into the past through a cracked crystal ball, release rats into narrow passages, or use an enchanted cat that can smell magic. This makes the investigation feel less like a typical hidden object game and more like a bizarre fantasy adventure, filled with unusual characters, hidden motives, and absurd details.
