Maelstrom: The Battle for Earth Begins Enhanced is a real-time strategy game about an Earth devastated by wars, environmental disasters, and an alien invasion. Fifty years later, the planet has been reduced to rubble, and humanity is divided between the remnants of the resistance, a powerful corporation, and a new threat from outer space. While the Remnants struggle to survive amid the ruins, the Ascension clings to power through technology, and the Hi-Genti exploit the chaos to seize control of the planet. Amid this conflict, the Earth literally crumbles beneath the feet of the armies.

Battles change right during the fight

During battles, the environment can be destroyed and nature itself can be used against the enemy. Water erodes the ground, ice cracks, tornadoes destroy positions, and terrain changes completely alter the attack's direction. Some armies use this to defend and close off passages, while others, on the contrary, attempt to flood territory or destroy enemy fortifications through weather effects and terrain destruction. This makes the battlefield constantly feel alive and unstable.

Each side of the conflict fights in its own way. The Remnants rely on brute force and survival amidst the ruins, the Ascension utilizes technology and vehicles, and the aliens employ unusual weaponry and their own methods of warfare. As the characters progress, they gain experience and new abilities, and the missions themselves constantly change scale — from local clashes to massive battles across a devastated Earth, where danger emanates not only from the enemy but also from the planet itself.

Installation:
