Nightsoil — is a narrative adventure story about an old farmer's last night shift in cholera-ravaged London in 1854. Instead of heroism, there's hard labor; instead of bright light, there are foggy lanterns and narrow courtyards reeking of disease. Joined by your faithful horse, Old Boy, you slowly ride through the sleeping city, performing the work without which it would have long ago choked in its own waste.
A city that cannot be abandoned
The night passes among filthy alleys, overflowing toilets, and slippery manholes leading to sewers. The cart creaks under the weight of its load, the horse tires, and every movement demands attention. The work is monotonous, but it is precisely in this routine that the details of the hero's life and his silent attitude toward the world around him are revealed.
Gradually, the weight of the shift becomes more than just physical. The empty houses, the sparse lights in the windows, and the chill air create a sense of ending — as if not just a workday, but an entire stage of life is ending. The connection with the old horse is felt in every halting step, in every careful turn of the cart.
