House of Saturn – a first-person psychological horror game from XCATHEDRA Games. Set in early 20th-century England, at a haunted university, the protagonist's only defense is a lantern that must be constantly refilled. A Steam release date has not yet been announced; playtesting is ongoing.
University and secret society
The hero remains silent and explains nothing; the walls themselves are forced to tell the story. You wander the dark corridors of the old university, examining the rooms and, from fragments, reconstructing the history of the occult society that once met here. Clues are scattered throughout the environment, and the more closely you look, the more you understand what exactly happened here and why evil has awakened. Puzzles are tied to the environment and prevent you from advancing until you figure them out.
Light and the Demon Behind the Wall
The main tool here is the flashlight. It helps solve light puzzles, but its fuel runs out, and you need to constantly monitor your supply. The demon hunting the hero is dangerous because it passes through walls. You can hide from it, but relying on a door to stop it is pointless. The demon knows you're here, so you won't be able to relax for long. Surviving the encounter isn't enough: the hero's goal is to drive the demons out of the building.
Faith versus fear
The game's religious theme is explicitly stated. The epigraph is the biblical line, "Fear not, for I am with you," and the tagline promises that the gates of hell will not prevail against the hero. The game is short, retro-styled, and contains little gore. Download House of Saturn You can download it via torrent on PC on this page.
