Dreams of Another – an experimental third-person action game from the Japanese studio Q-Games, released in October 2025. It's the latest game from Bayon, the creator of PixelJunk Eden, and is being released under the PixelJunk brand. The key twist is that shots don't destroy the world, but create it.
Shoot to build
The familiar shooter formula is inverted. When you fire, objects appear at the point of impact and the environment takes shape. The dream world the hero navigates is fluid and shifts under your fire, and you can explore it freely. It's based on a philosophical idea, distilled into the main theme by the creators: there is no creation without destruction. Visually, the world is composed of point clouds, so the landscapes sometimes crumble and then reassemble.
A man in pajamas and a soldier
The story is presented as a poetic parable. It centers on two characters: the Pajama Man and the Wandering Soldier. Along the way, they encounter unusual companions, including sentient objects who humorously reflect on human society and the structure of the universe. The plot is nonlinear, and the tone ranges from melancholy to dark comedy.
Music of Bayon
The soundtrack was composed by Bayon himself, the multimedia artist who created the music and visual style for PixelJunk Eden. The music is experimental and sets the rhythm for the entire dreamscape. The game is single-player, with gamepad and HDR support. A Core i5 and GTX 1060 are sufficient, and it requires about 6GB of disk space. The game is also available on Steam in a bundle with PixelJunk Eden 2. Download the torrent. Dreams of Another on PC you can see it below.
