Dungeon Warfare 3 – the third installment in the tower defense dungeon crawler series from Excidium and Valsar, released on August 29, 2025. You're back on the villain's side: building a lair and pitting the heroic adventurers against traps, only now the labyrinth itself can be rebuilt cell by cell.

DIY labyrinth

The third game's key mechanic revolves around the landscape. Before a wave, you place terrain tiles, build walls, and dig pits, directing enemies to traps. The route is no longer predetermined, and good planning is sometimes more important than the traps themselves. The terrain and traps complement each other, and combinations between them allow you to create combos that wipe out entire squads. All of this is viewed from above, and the graphics are pixelated and noticeably more accurate than in previous games.

Arsenal and upgrades

The selection of traps and devices has expanded, and each can be upgraded and modified. Successful defenses earn experience, which is used to constantly upgrade traps, gain new abilities, and strengthen the fortress. Adventurers have also become more diverse: new enemy types with their own characteristics have appeared, requiring defenses to be tailored to each wave. Actions must be taken in real time as the next team advances to the heart of the dungeon.

Maps, runes, and endless mode

In addition to handcrafted story levels, there are randomly generated dungeons, so repeat playthroughs don't become a memorization of the same layout.
