Mountains of Madness

Mountains of Madness – a first-person indie horror game based on H.P. Lovecraft's novella "At the Mountains of Madness" from Deep Dive Project, released on June 14, 2024. You are geologist William Dyer, the leader of the Miskatonic University expedition to Antarctica, and you need to find out what happened to the advance camp.

Contact with the camp has been lost.

The expedition's advance team made discoveries that revolutionize biology and immediately lost contact. Dyer sets out to search for his missing colleagues. It all begins in an icy wasteland, and then the path leads into tunnels once traversed by the advance team. Their equipment, abandoned along the way, becomes your tools, and without them, you won't be able to navigate these places.

Something that is better not to find

The further you go, the stranger the discoveries become. Remains of life forms never seen before, ruins of a civilization that couldn't have existed, and things best left hidden. The story unfolds gradually, through exploration, and leads to places no sane person would ever venture. The game contains graphic gore, so it's intended for adults.

Other Lovecraft games on the site

The site also features the Chronicle of Innsmouth: Mountains of Madness, but it's a different game: a 2D pixelated point-and-click adventure. Instead, it features a 3D world, a first-person perspective, and leisurely exploration in the spirit of a walking simulator.
