Realms of Madness – a fantasy real-time strategy game, created single-handedly by Robin van der Horst, was released on November 3, 2025. The castle is seen from the side, and the battlefield is divided into three layers: sea, land, and sky, and you have to fight on all of them at once.
The fortress before the first siege
The game begins with construction. First, walls and outbuildings are erected, the economy is established, and only then does it make sense to raise an army. Walls are upgraded with modules: braziers and traps are hung on them, and towers are added. A well-fortified castle withstands attacks significantly longer, so you have to invest just as much in defense as in attack. The goal of every battle is the same: take the enemy fortress before they take yours.
Three fronts at once
The land portion is familiar: soldiers, mages, trolls, and siege engines march on the walls. Birds and winged monsters fly above, swooping down on the defenders. Below, underwater, shelters are built, from which sea creatures are summoned to sink enemy ships from below. There's also a navy, and control of the water is a separate struggle. Toward the end of the campaign, dragons can be summoned, and the balance of power shifts significantly.
Squad experience and chaos
Squads that survive a battle gain experience and become stronger in subsequent battles, so throwing them into the slaughter is unprofitable. Victories award points, which are spent in a skill tree with chaotic abilities. The graphics are hand-drawn, and the characters are voiced by professional actors. There is only one single-player mode; there is no multiplayer. Download Realms of Madness You can download the torrent for PC on this page. The game is undemanding and takes up about 2 GB.
