Visions of Mana

Visions of Mana – an action-RPG from Square Enix, the next major installment in the Mana series, was released on August 29, 2024. It is the first full-fledged new game in the series since 2006's Dawn of Mana, and it returns Mana to its classic fairytale fantasy setting, but in a 3D semi-open world.

Pilgrimage to the Tree of Mana

The protagonist, Val, serves as a guardian of souls. His childhood friend, Hinna, is chosen as the Alma of Fire, and now she faces a long journey to the Tree of Mana. Val sets out with her as her protector. Along the way, they are joined by new companions: Karina, Morley, Palemena, and Julei. The further the party travels, the more the heroes learn about the true nature of their world and what awaits the Alma at the end of the pilgrimage. At some point, they must decide whether to accept their fate.

Elements instead of simply changing weapons

Battles take place in real time in a 3D space and are based on the power of elemental spirits. Each element unlocks a class with its own weapon. For example, the Wind class grants a sickle, while the Moon class grants a horned spear. Classes and characters can be swapped out, creating a party that suits your playstyle. The large, colorful world is easily navigated on piculs, local mounts that help you quickly and safely travel from one end to the other. And there are plenty of dangerous monsters to encounter along the way.

Music and picture

The series' recognizable style remains: vibrant locations and vibrant characters. The soundtrack was created by the composers of previous games; the game features over a hundred melodies, which change depending on the game's events.
