It's impossible to imagine the Half-Life universe ever losing its popularity. Numerous mods have been released for it, and another one is in development. This is a fan game. Lost Squad, the plot of which unfolds in the time period that falls at the end of Half-Life 2: Episode One and all of Half-Life 2: Episode Two, while it only at the beginning of the narrative captures the events that took place in Episode One.
Character Lost Squad Barney Calhoun, a security guard and operative for the Resistance organization and an old friend of the series' protagonist, Gordon Freeman, is a character he portrays in the previous installments, though he played a significant role in the plot. He was absent from Half-Life 2: Episode Two, however. That's why the mod's creators chose to include him — to give gamers a glimpse into his activities during the events of Episode Two, and to allow them to play as him in Episode One.
We'd also like to add that the developers have introduced a couple of new gameplay features: co-op and a dynamic destruction system. Unfortunately, it's not yet known when the download will be available. Lost Squad via torrent, but the project has been in development for several years, and the Steam release date is listed as "coming soon." So there's reason to hope that the wait for this intriguing mod isn't long.
